How to make your own Dining Table – Work Desk, easy and cheap

In this tutorial we will make a custom made, inexpensive table. It’s made of Australian hardwood using simple tools everybody should have at home. We looked around for a bit and just couldn’t find a table that we liked at a price we were willing to pay. So here is a tutorial about how not to pay a couple thousand bucks when you can make your own hardwood table under 200 aud in the exact dimensions that suit your needs.

You need:
Material
Table Top 240cm long by 70cm deep
-5x Victorian Ash Planks (Australian Gumtree – Hardwood) size: 14 cm wide, 240cm long, 3.5cm thick

Legs
– 4 x 10cm square by 70cm (75cm) long Victorian Ash Posts
– 2 x timber planks w10cm x l66cm x h1.5cm

-24 x screws
– linseed oil

Tools
-get the timber cut at the store in your required size – less work
-simple woodworking tools (sandpaper,
– robe /car straps, spare wood, clamps, fix it mate glue, plastic cover for protection of your floor

Lay out the boards and reshuffle them until they fit well together, some fit better together then others. Also try to let the growth rings of each plank meet the next at 90 degree angles as it will decrease the warping in the finished table top….
